We would love to have you visit Kraaifontein church of Christ. We are a friendly, loving and welcoming bunch of people that adore the LORD. Although our hearts are always welcoming, we do understand that it may feel a bit intimidating to visit a new church, so here’s what you can expect:
What should I wear?
Do not worry too much about what you are wearing. The members of our congregation are a mixture of older folk, parents, young adults, all the way down to babies. Therefore our dress code includes everything from dentures to diapers. Whether you feel comfortable to be casual, or dress up a little, you will be welcomed!
What about my kids?
At Kraaifontein Church of Christ we are a family-orientated congregation with many tiny humans. Therefore we take great care in accommodating and understanding the needs of the little humans. We take great pride in our amazing Sunday school programme, which your children can enjoy while you’re in Bible study. If your kids are a bit smaller, there is a nursery room that you are more than welcome to make use of during the church service, while still being able to listen into the church service.
What time should I come?
Our Bible study begins at 9AM-10AM on Sunday morning (Sunday School too)
We have a little 15minute break to greet one another and stretch our legs
Worship service begins at 10:15AM-11:15AM
Where should I park?
Kraaifontein Church of Christ’s church building has a parking lot in front of the churches building which you are more than welcome to make use of. Once you have parked, you can walk down the paved pathway through the gated enterance as so beautifully indicated by our kids below.
Once you are through the gate, the entrance to the church will be to your left. A friendly brother will be at the door to welcome you and usher you to a seat.
What should I expect?
The assemblies for worship at the Kraaifontein church follow the simple, spiritual pattern of the New Testament. The worship service and Bible study lasts about 60 minutes. Although Kraaifontein church of Christ’s website provides Biblical content and lessons in Afrikaans, our entire worship service and Bible study is conducted in English.
The worship service will begin (at 10:15 AM) with a prayer to our Lord. Then we will sing songs of praise and encouragement from the heart (Ephesians 5:19). The songs can be followed in a song book so that everyone can engage in worship together. After singing we will spend time remembering the death of Jesus by taking the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). You will not be asked or obligated to part-take when the emblems are served by the Brothers to the congregation.
Then an opportunity is given for Christians to give from the heart to the Lord (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7). You are not asked nor obligated to give. You may give if you desire. The money is used to further the teaching of the Bible in this community. After the Lord’s Supper and the opportunity to give, there will be a reading from God’s word which leads into a message spoken from God’s word (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 4:2). Every message has encouraging and practical help for your life. You are welcome to participate in as much of the worship service as you are comfortable doing. The worship service will then end with one final song and one final prayer.
